France-Germany: 3-3

Standard

It has been a little while now that the official nationality count in our family was 3:2. Three French versus two Germans. The reason is, of course, that we’ve had the French passport for Thomas already for a while now, but the German one was missing.

And I cannot even blame German bureaucracy for that. It’s just that after we had requested German passport and birth certificate it still took of course 6 weeks to get the “real” passport (Oskar’s passport arrived much faster, but due to the name declaration we got him a children’s passport back then, which was not necessary anymore for Thomas).

So, when his passport arrived in Singapore, we were already in Europe for another legendary Christmas vacation. And then we came back and we forgot that there was still Thomas’ passport sitting at the consulate.

Today I finally picked it up:

There he is: our Chinese baby.
