So I was having lunch with Fay and Sara today and I was quizzing them to what restaurant I should take out Lamia tonight. I had suggested our favorite go-to place, Margarita’s at Dempsey, but Lamia indicated that she did not feel like Mexican today.
Being the most boring person south of Malaysia, I had no clue where else to take her. The lunch with Fay and Sara was a lucky break, because these girls know where to go for a nice dinner. They came up with a couple of options and I picked Salt, a place we had not been to before. They did indicate it might be difficult to still get a table for tonight, though.
Turns out it was reasonably easy with Quandoo.
Once the kids were in bed, we took a cab to ION Orchard and arrived there around 8:30. I did not tell Lamia where we’d go, but I told her that Fay and Sara recommended the place…
Lamia: They did? Uuuh – this will be a nice restaurant…
And it is. Salt is quite impressive. It is located on the 55th floor at ION (I did not even know there were that many floors) and it has brilliant views over the city. It’s not as high up as 1 Altitude, but it certainly comes close.
We had cocktails and a truly amazing dinner. The food was simply excellent – they knew how to make steak so that Lamia likes it (not that easy to find in Singapore) and they even made a little photo keepsake for us.
And: we had a table directly at the window with a kickass view.
A truly worthy place for a birthday dinner (and of course thanks to Fay and Sara for the recommendation).
ps: Note to my mom: look what I am wearing :)
